Konkord proudly presents ... Disco Bazaar von The Base - Release 30.6.!

Where's your VJ? Norbert Wallys müdwütende Stimme macht klar: „Wake up, and grab what you need - we ride after dawn.“ Mit diesen Sherrylips ist nicht gut Kirschen essen.

„Share your story with me.“ - heißt's im vernebelten Pile Your Shisha. Kein Wunder also, dass viele der Bazaar-Songs live in einem Take eingespielt wurden - inklusive Vocals.

„Pour sugar in my Soul!“: MIt Fabio Schurischuster, der The Base seit 5 Jahren live mischt, haben sie sich für genau diesen Sound des neuen Albums den genau richtigen Produzenten an Bord geholt. „Siting on a parkbank“ - alles eine Spur simpler, alles eine Spur kantiger, aber alles auch eine Spur intimer, näher zur Band hin. Disco Bazaar.

Und ... what the hell is .... Simoom? Disco Bazaar eben.

---------------

What makes us Konkordistas rhapsodize and sweat in excitement? Bands like The Base do. The Graz based threesome present their third release on Konkord, putting the rocking drive of a French Connection style car chase, the vintage grooves on a steaming Saturday-Night-Feverish dancefloor and the mellow elegance of a bottle of red wine into eleven marvelling songs.

The Base have always been known for a surprise or two. On the opening track of Disco Bazaar they’ve discovered their discoanimalistic nature, firing mirrorballs from the get-go at their raving listeners. Where's your VJ hiding? Norbert Wally and his comrades on bass and drums find the answer in pounding discobeats from the rocking 70ies. One exciting chest hair and platforms free-for-all. Connected takes us to a jamaican dancehall, spiced up with a guitar tune The Base must have heard first in a shisha parlour somewhere in Cairo, Egypt. So? F***, a tune to dance to if there ever was one! Music is best served hot and rocking like Lose My Happy, sweet and compelling like Feed your Dinobaby or bluesy and haunting like Ride After Dawn. „Wake up, and grab what you need - we ride after dawn.“ No nonsense here. But better beware. Eight cops a-coming. They put an end to side A.

On side B nonchalance and intimacy are providing a slow but steady undertow, taking us away from the rocks to still waters. The starting song Just another sky is a waltzy ballad, featuring an enchanting accordion tune reminiscent of french musette. Viennas songwriting queen Clara Luzia is adding grace and somnambulistic certainty in the fragile duets King Karma and Sugar in my Soul! „Share your story with me“ - it’s safe to do so when you’re obscured by a screen of smoke as in Pile Your Shisha. The closing song Simoom features a slow but funky groove serving as a lifeline to keep the meandering tunes of guitar psychedelia from getting lost in the super hot and potentially life ending storm known as simoom or poisonwind, which puts an end to side B.

Those who are familiar with The Base and their previous recordings will enjoy the broad range of styles and atmospheres featured on Disco Bazaar. If you are new to The Base this record will easily pave your way into their world.
